Panchkula is a small and clean town based  in the foot hills of Himalyas.
though the town officially came into being in the year 1969,however its origin is dated back to the times of Mahabharata.
It has three small Industrial Areas. Two of the Industrial Areas are one sq km each and came up in the 1980s for ancillary units supplying tractor parts to the now defunct HMT factory in Pinjore

One of the Industrial Area is a actually a IT Industrial area and is based near Ghaggar river.

Despite being a small town of just 0.3 to 0.4 million population, thi stown hosts many certification body offices and Eurocert is one of the Multinational Certification body whose national office is based out of Panchkula.
